Want To Help?

We are always seeking new volunteers to help support our many projects.  By donating only a few hours a month, you can make a difference for your neighbors in Portland.

You can also support the Portland Community Fund by making a donation.  The money that you donate goes to help us support agencies that provide services in the Portland area to youth, the elderly, low income families, battered women, and much more.  All donations can be mailed to PO Box 524, Portland MI  48875.

You can use payroll deduction to donate--if your employer partipates with any United Way campaign, write in Portland Community Fund Association to designate your contribution. NOTE: Use code UP22

Our Big Events - Ways to Make A Difference

Annual Coat Drive:

Every October a coat drive is held.  In 2011, over 231 people received coats on our distribution day.  All of the coats not given out in Portland were sent to Ionia for distribution by the Department of Human Services.

Christmas Giving Program:

Our Christmas Giving program provided a Christmas dinner, socks, hats and gloves to 650 individuals in 179 families in the Portland School District.  In addition, 358 children received gifts and a shoebox filled with goodies.  Residents of local nursing homes received personal care items.  The remaining food was donated to the local food banks.

Also when requested, assistance is provided for families in need due to fire or special circumstances.  Limited funds are available for local emergencies.
